World's 1st AI Camera đź“·

PLUS: AI takes over self publishing, Intelligent pens and QR codes get interesting (finally)

Hey folks,

Welcome to Brain Salad, the tastiest tools, news, and memes to keep you ahead in the new world of AI.

Let’s tuck in đźĄŁ

 In this week’s edition:

  • World's 1st Context-2-Image camera đź“·

  • Plus tools, trending news, and memes…

Point, click, and let AI do the rest đźŞ¦

Paragraphica is a context-to-image camera by Bjorn Karmen that uses your location data to take photos.

It collects various open-source data like time, weather, points of interest and any special events happening. It has some lovely analogue touches too, like being able to set the radius of the area the camera searches.

The results are really interesting and creepily similar to the actual locations.

Perhaps the uncanny feeling you get from it is exactly what people felt in the 19th century when photography was first invented!

If you want to try it out head here.

You can support the project by buying a roll, and it’s also worth checking out Bjorn’s other projects like We See.

Fresh stuff 🥗

More analogue goodness in the form of the Nuwa Pen. There are lots of these types of products around but they’re normally quite restrictive. Nuwa has a few advantages, the ink can be refilled and you can write on any type of paper.

I don’t care what you say, QR codes will never be cool and I will never use them. Ok, these are pretty incredible.

Amazon is reportedly getting flooded with books created by AI. I skimmed a few over the weekend and honestly, some were ok, but overall it was very generic stuff. Pretty much the same as most self-published content on Amazon.

The top Google result for Edward Hopper is an AI-generated fake. This is going to become a bigger and bigger issue, but perhaps the more pressing question for Google (and their business model) is how they’re going to ensure accurate results in future.

A church in Germany ran an entire sermon via AI recently. The service featured text generated by ChatGPT and was delivered by AI avatars on screen.

If you use Figma a lot in your work then check out Hippo AI. It lets you use text prompts directly in Figma to generate vector icons and illustrations you can use in your designs.

If you are getting started with prompts then check out SnackPrompt. It’s Product Hunt for prompts and surfaces the best submissions daily.

Adobe’s new Generative Fill is incredible. It lets you extend any image using just a prompt. There are probably a lot of valuable applications for this tech but here it is applied to memes.

StyleDrop is really cool and a lot of fun to play with. Take any artistic style, repurpose it and use it how you like.

This story about developer Enias Calliau cloning his girlfriend is very odd. I get why some people might want to “talk” to their favourite Tiktok Influencer but why would you want to clone your partner when you could just talk to the real thing?

Will AI kill us all?

Not just yet, but a combo of Twitter’s new verification system and Midjounrey might get us there a bit quicker.

That’s it for this week, say hello on Twitter @mrcunsolo
