Midjourney V5 gets a high 5 🙏
PLUS: ChatGPT takeover, Text2Video is here...

Hey folks,
Welcome to Brain Salad, your weekly portion of the freshest stuff from the world of artificial intelligence.
Let’s tuck in.
In this week’s edition:
Midjourney learns how to draw hands 👌
All the insane things ChatGPT can do 🕳️
RunwayML launches Text2Video 🤯
Plus tools to help you be more creative & productive…
Midjourney v5 gets a high five 🙏
Midjourney V5 dropped this week and its capabilities are incredible (and a little bit scary).
The big news is it can draw hands. Incredibly well.

The quality of images it can render is truly mind-blowing. Or creepy in some instances.
There’s a lot of talk at the moment about AI taking jobs. There’s no doubt, it’s going to have a big impact on the type of work we do currently. But it’s also something to embrace, like @riabovitchev artist who works with Disney and Lucasfilm and is using Midjounrey to speed up the concept phase.
To think this is being built by a self-funded team of 9 is just crazy!
Head to Discord to try it out.
ChatGPT4 blows up the internet
OpenAI launched ChatGPT4 just over one week ago and completely blew up the internet.
So far it’s been used to create arcade games, presentations, apps, and an episode of Friends. It’s even been used to run a startup (though I think they made more money from people joining their community off the back of this than through the actual ventures).
Oh, and it passed a bar exam ⚖️
Are we all in trouble? Possibly, even Sam Altman, founder of OpenAI said he was a little scared of the implications. But, as we were saying above, with any new technology, those that embrace it will do well.
Or to put it another way 👇
AI will probably most likely lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there'll be great companies.

I’m sure it’ll all work out fine.
RunwayML launches Text2Video
The other big news this week was RunwayML launching Text 2 Video.
It does pretty much what you would expect it to, give it a text prompt and it’ll generate a video based on the prompt.
Pretty mind-boggling.
Runway has lots of other tools that make editing videos and creating amazing effects as easy as possible.
The promise of web 2.0 was democratisation. With AI tools and the blockchain, the promise is quickly becoming a reality.
Let’s say it’s the 1950s and you want to create a movie, what do you need? Locations, Actors, Crew, Equipment, and lots of other things…
Compare that to today. In 2023 you can produce a film from anywhere in the world with nothing more than a web browser, a wifi connection, and some motivation.
Fresh stuff to try 🥗
Use Mememorph to turn yourself into your favourite memes. The results will leave you crying. All you need to do is upload a bunch of photos of yourself to get started.
Vidyo lets you automatically convert long-form videos into short-form viral bangers. It’s pretty accurate in finding the best bits but it works best with videos over 30 minutes.
It’s-a me, Mario! Ever wanted to chat with Mario? Or another character you can think of? Well, now you can thanks to Character.ai.
Want your child to be the centre of their own story? Bedtimestory.ai creates personalised bedtime stories for your children (or you, we won’t judge).
If you’ve ever wanted to read a book but not had the time then check out Ask My Book by Sahil, founder of Gumroad.
Canva has released a host of AI tools to make designing faster and to try and take on Adobe Firefly.
If you like listening to the Huberman podcast then you’ll love Huberman AI, a chatbot that lets you query every episode in the series.
Barter with the carpet salesman to buy a rug as cheaply as possible. This is a blast. I managed $795
If you’re feeling curious about navigating the world of AI but don’t know where to start then Greg Isenberg just launched You Probably Need a Robot, a community to help make you 10x more productive with AI.
